Ons South Coast dagtoer

Ons het die Saterdag 'n bustoer gevat langs Dublin se Suidkus af na die platteland van Ierland. Ons busdrywer en gids vir die dag was baie amusant. Ons het op die boonste vlak van die dubbel decker gesit en oor die mikrofoon geluister na Ierland se geskiedenis, inligting oor besienswaardighede, grappies en hy het selfs tradisionele Ierse liedjies langs die pad vir ons gesing. Hy het ons ook vertel van bekende mense soos Bono en The Edge van die musiekgroep U2, asook die bekende Ierse sanger Enya wat daar rond bly.

Ons het ook 'n draai gemaak by Powerscourt Gardens wat oorweldigend mooi is -

"One of the World's Great Gardens situated 12 miles south of Dublin in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. The gardens were begun by Richard Wingfield in the 1740's. The word garden belies the magnitude of this creation which stretches out over 45 acres. It is a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, statuary and ornamental lakes together with secret hollows, rambling walks, walled gardens and over 200 variations of trees and shrubs."
